List of festivals

Many festivals are celebrated in the course of a year. Three of the most important among them are:

Brahmarathotsava which starts on Chaitra Shukla Dwitiya, which is the day following Ugadi and extends to five days. The Avabrita takes place on the sixth day.

Navaratri commences on the Shukla Paksha Pratipada of Ashvija and concludes on the 14thday, Chaturdashi, with a Chandika Homa.

Pratishta Vardanthi Utsava: Anniversary of installation of the Goddess and inauguration of the temple, which commences on Mrigasira Champa Shashti. The festival lasts for five days, up to Dashami, the day of pratishta. Every day, there is Deva Darshana and the patris of Grama Purusha, Simha Purusha, Maala Purusha and Kaala Bhairava bless the devotees. On the tenth lunar day,the festival concludes with a Bali (offering) at night.
